There’s a certain feeling when everything clicks—the light, the models (human and otherwise), the location and logistics. When 28peaks is in the mix and managing every detail, that’s just what happens—pure magic.
Peter and Susan make the travel journey the best. I have been traveling with them since 2013 , I always feel safe with them as a woman traveling alone, and have confidence that the shoots are well planned and organized. I give them a 5 star rating.
My thanks to this beautiful couple. You guys worked so hard, I really appreciate it. See you soon.

THE SCHEDULE
Arrival at Reykjavík

Day 1: Arrival at Reykjavík
During the day we arrive in the Icelandic capital Reykjavík. Two vans will pick you up from the airport. Together we get used to the frosty temperatures and with luck we can chase the first northern lights in the evening! If you feel like it, then explore the Reykjavik nightlife after that.
All about waterfalls Day 1

Day 2: All about waterfalls Day 1
The first two days of the trip are all about water. We start in Reykjavík and head to the first waterfalls of our trip; the Urriðafoss. Then we continue on to the grandiose Þjófafoss. Situated in front of a wonderful mountain backdrop, the waterfall pours into a sparkling pond of glacier water.
Hotel: Hotel Hella ***
All about waterfalls Day 2

Day 3: All about waterfalls Day 2
On the second day we visit the popular Seljalandsfoss. We will be able to take unusual pictures, because here you can step behind the roaring water and take pictures through the water. But you would not travel with 28peaks, if we did not visit the often overlooked, because hidden, little brother Gljúfrabúi. In the immediate vicinity it digs its way through a cave that can only be entered through a narrow gap.
We end the day at sunset with a view of Dyrhólaey, a stone arch on the famous black beaches of Iceland.
Hotel: Hotel Vík
Volcanic tales

Day 4: Volcanic tales
Today is the topic of “volcanic tales”. We start the day in close proximity to our accommodation on the famous black beaches of Iceland. There, basalt columns and black sand testify to the extreme temperatures of past volcanic eruptions. The journey continues to Fjaðrárgljúfur, perhaps the most beautiful canyon in Iceland. Before we go back to Vík to our accommodation, we also photograph the Eldraun lava field, one of the largest, superficially now completely cooled lava fields in Iceland. Here sometimes the best pictures of the whole tour are made!

Day 5: The breathtaking glacier caves Day 1
Welcome to the absolute highlight of our trip. Look forward to the breathtaking glacier caves of Skaftafel Glacier!
The ice caves are by no means unknown. In order not to meet other tourists, we trust the knowledgeable guys from LocalGuide.is, who lead us into remote, great caves. To get there we take a little hike across the white ice level of the glacier. Those will be terrific pictures! Since the ice caves can change greatly in a short period of time due to weather conditions, there is no guarantee for the accessibility of certain ice caves. Together with LocalGuide.is we will be able to offer the best possible experience.

Photogenic motifs

Day 7: Photogenic motifs
In the Jökullsarlon glacier lagoon the glacial waters of Vatnajökull, Iceland’s largest glacier, flood and this is exactly what we are aiming for on this day. Ice breaking off the glacier’s edges floats around in the glacier lake. Deep blue color tells of the century of deep sleep in the glacier. This lagoon is very well-known but nevertheless so extraordinary that we can not miss a short visit.
In the evening we continue to Vestrahorn in the southeast of the island. From Stokksnes headland you have a wonderful view of this extraordinary mountain range with black beaches in front of it. One of the most photogenic motifs of Iceland.
Hotel: Milk Factory
Return to Reykjavik

Day 8: Return to Reykjavik
The return to Reykjavík marks the provisional end of our tour. We will be traveling for a few hours. In the early evening, we can review the experience during a last, shared dinner and then once again Iceland’s capital at night.

Day 9: Departure

What customers have said:
I’ve had a great trip thanks to Tony Stromberg, Peter Clotten and Susan Pfeifer. It was great to meet you all and please keep in touch.
All thanks for your great company in the last 8 days. I had great time. Tony you are the best equine photographer, Susan and Peter’s organisation skills are top. Stay in touch.
From the moment I signed up for the workshop, the travel and workshop details were handled thoughtfully. The safety of trusting all of that was covered, plus the beautiful space held by Peter and Susan, allowed my creativity to flourish. The proof is in the prints.
These workshop are not only about photography, they are also about making new friends who share the same passion. I have some amazing images from these workshops! I highly recommend 28peaks…well organized and run by Peter and Susan.
